As part of the City of Champaign’s Bristol Park Neighborhood Revitalization Plan, the city reclaimed the old Bristol Place Neighborhood through an $8MM investment into the relocation of residents and the demolition of 82 functionally obsolete homes. Additionally, a $4MM investment was made into neighborhood through the Boneyard Creek reclamation project and Bristol Park Improvements.
As part of the neighborhood transformation, AHDVS developed Bristol Place Residences, a 90-unit affordable rental community for working families. The development consists of 90 homes and adds value to the quality and diversity of housing choices for the residents of the Bristol Park community. This “Community of Choice” reached 100 percent occupancy in October 2020 and serves as a fresh start for the working families of Champaign. The Construction of Bristol Place residences included over 30% participation by minority and women owned businesses and contributed to the creation of 40 jobs.
A 60-unit Senior Living Phase II component of the neighborhood is currently in the pre-development stage.
